Bilchalan Shahid Shamsuzzoha Govt. College was established in 1969 after the name of first martyr intellectual Dr. Mohammad Shamsuzzoha, the then professor and proctor of Rajshahi University. Earlier in 1965 the intelligentsia of this locality started dreaming to establish a college to facilitate the higher education for the students who are poor but meritorious and intelligent. Establishing a college was a difficult matter and it took long four years to manage the necessary funds and other necessary things, papers and documents for operating a college.
